Boxing heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua will very soon present his belts to Nigeria President Mohammed Buhari in Abuja, MySportDab reports.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity Laolu Akande disclosed this today while briefing correspondents on behalf of Sports Minister Sunday Dare.
MySportDab understands the briefing on Anthony Joshua's visit was done after the (FEC) Federal Executive Council meeting by vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday.
However, Mr Laolu Akande confirmed that the date for the presentation of his belts is yet to be fixed.
“The Minister of Sports made the announcement that Anthony Joshua will present his belts to the President Buhari anytime soon over the next coming days.
“The Council members also did express their full appreciation for the gift of books from the VP Yemi Osinbajo which has become an annual tradition,’’ he concluded.
Anthony Joshua reclaimed his heavyweight belts in a rematch against Mexican boxer Andy Ruiz Jr in a thrilling bout.
The victory against Ruiz helped him to reclaim the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight belts he lost to Ruiz Jr. after their first fight back in June.
